STAMPEDE is back at The Highball on Friday, July 24, for another queer linedance party. It's put on by Neon Rainbows, and they describe it as a boot-blasting, barn-burning non-stop linedance party all night. The music comes from Ed West, an Austin local, and the dance lessons are handled by Country Fried Dance.
If you've never been, here's how the night works: it's not just one long dance. The sessions run from beginner-friendly lessons through to intermediate and advanced levels, so you can start from zero and work your way up as the night goes on. You don't need to know a single step when you walk in the door; the lessons are there to get you moving before the floor fills up.
Between the lessons, the dance floor stays open, and Ed West keeps the music going. The whole thing is 21+, so it's an adults-only crowd. The Highball is right next to the South Lamar Alamo Drafthouse, which makes it an easy spot to get to if you're already out in that part of town.

It runs from 8 PM to 11:55 PM, so you've got nearly four hours to work through the lessons and dance. Tickets are $15 at the door on the day of the event, or $20 in advance.
