A 5K walk/run fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, featuring one-mile and three-mile loops and a Kids Dash, open to families.
The St. Jude Walk comes to PopStroke in Austin on Saturday, September 26, from 7 AM to 11 AM. It's a free, non-competitive walk and run that's open to families, and it's part of a larger year-long campaign to raise awareness for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital across the city. The walk also falls within Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which runs through September.
On the day, there are a few ways to get moving. You can take a one-mile loop or a three-mile loop, and there's a Kids Dash on the field for the younger ones. Since it's non-competitive, you can go at your own pace—whether that's a brisk walk with friends or a run to get your heart rate up. The walk is held in 40 cities, so Austin is one of many communities showing up for the same cause.
While the walk itself is free, the day is built around fundraising. Walkers are encouraged to set a goal and share their progress on social media, with the money going toward the hospital's mission to end childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It's a way to turn a morning outside into something that supports the research and care St. Jude provides.
