Hard rock band Social Dissonance performs live at The Lost Well in Austin, blending punk, metal and alternative rock.
Social Dissonance play The Lost Well on Wednesday, September 30, starting at 8 PM. They're an Austin hard rock band that came up through the local scene, and this is a straight-ahead headlining set — just them on the bill.
If you haven't caught them yet, it's worth knowing where they're coming from. They formed in 2020, so they've been playing around the city for a few years now. Their sound pulls from punk, metal, and alternative rock, and they describe it as a mix of infectious melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, and a high-energy live show. It's a hard rock set, but the punk and alt-rock influences keep it from leaning too far into any one direction.
The current lineup is Lucy Garner on vocals, Shane Gordon on bass, Cyrus Geller on guitar, and Sean Burton on drums. Garner's vocals lead the way, and the rest of the band builds around her, with Gordon, Geller, and Burton filling out the sound. They've been playing together as a four-piece, and that's who you'll see on stage.
