A house and disco night featuring four local selectors in an intimate setting, suitable for dancing without festival crowds.
Second Saturdays returns to Neon Grotto on Saturday, October 10, with an all-local lineup built for people who want to dance without fighting the festival crowds. The night runs from 10 PM to 2 AM, and the bill brings together four selectors from around town for a full evening of house and disco.
Texas house veteran Brett Johnson leads the bill, bringing his signature mix of groovy, elastic house and techno. He's joined by Brother Pate, an Austin house lifer who reaches across four decades of records to build his sets. Victor S and Mando round out the night with deep, minimal, and acid-leaning selections. The four of them share the room, and the night is built around house and disco.
Between them, the lineup covers a lot of ground. Johnson handles the groovy, elastic side of house and techno; Pate pulls from records spanning forty years; and Victor S and Mando lean into the deeper, more minimal and acid-inflected territory. The promise is an intimate room, proper sound, and a long evening of house and disco from four selectors who let the dance floor develop naturally.
