Grammy-winning reggae artist Russ Baum brings the Midnight Rose Tour to Flamingo Cantina, blending folk rock, ska, Americana and reggae.
Russ Baum brings his Midnight Rose Tour to Flamingo Cantina on Friday, November 13, with Sugar Waves and Eric Hamblen opening the night. It's a long one, running from 9 PM to 2 AM, and the whole thing is 21+.
Baum is a Grammy Award-winning Rastafarian lyricist from Kingston, Jamaica, who built his name fusing reggae, hip-hop, and dancehall around socially conscious messages. He was a key figure in Jamaica's Reggae Revival movement, emerging with Rebel Music in 2011 and releasing tracks like "Free From Chains" and "Warrior" with Protoje. This stop on East 6th is part of the Midnight Rose Tour, which he describes as a road-tested blend of folk rock, ska, Americana, and reggae-leaning energy, built on upbeat songs and a storyteller spirit. It's a different side of the work than the dancehall and reggae he's known for in Jamaica.

Sugar Waves and Eric Hamblen open for him, so the night starts well before Baum takes the stage. The show is organized by Flamingo Cantina, and since it goes until 2 AM, there's plenty of room to hang out after the music wraps. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door, and you'll need to be 21 or older to get in. The venue is at 515 E 6th St, in the heart of East Austin.
