Night 3 of the annual Hot Summer Nights festival with island rhythms and live performances in downtown Austin.
Sgt. Remo, Ras I-Dre, Soulfiyah and Kroywen, and Mr. Blacc Sheep take over Flamingo Cantina on Saturday, July 18, for the third night of Hot Summer Nights. It's the Red River Cultural District's annual multi-night live music series, put on with support from Marshall and Resound, and this particular bill leans into the island rhythms and conscious lyrics the festival is built around. The lineup brings together four acts on one stage, and the whole thing is part of a larger run of shows across the district.
Hot Summer Nights isn't just one night at one venue. It's a series of lineups spread across several iconic spots in the Red River Cultural District, including Chess Club, The 13th Floor, Elysium, Stubb's, Flamingo Cantina, Swan Dive, Mohawk, Valhalla, and The Creek and the Cave. Each night brings a different set of artists to a different room, so you can move from one venue to another throughout the festival. The RRCD describes the series as a celebration of the sounds, positive vibes, and community spirit that define the district, with the focus on highlighting the downtown music scene.
