Family-friendly bowling fundraiser benefiting scholarships for adults with Down syndrome, featuring bowling, pizza, raffle prizes, music and community activities.
Rockin' RainBOWL takes over Westgate Lanes on Sunday, July 19, from 1 PM to 4 PM. It's a family-friendly bowling fundraiser presented by Ruby's Rainbow, and the money goes toward scholarships for adults with Down syndrome pursuing post-secondary education. If you've got kids or just a competitive streak, it's a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon while supporting a cause that helps people get into college or trade school.
The afternoon is built around bowling, but there's more to it than just knocking down pins. They'll have pizza on hand, raffle prizes to win, and music playing throughout the lanes. There are also community activities planned, so it's as much about hanging out as it is about the score. Since it's family-friendly, you can bring the whole crew along—kids and all—and spend a few hours on the lanes without having to worry about finding a separate activity for them.
Behind the event is Ruby's Rainbow, the organization putting the whole thing together. The scholarships they're raising money for are specifically for adults with Down syndrome who are pursuing post-secondary education, so the funds go directly toward helping people continue their schooling. It's a concrete goal that's easy to get behind, and the bowling is just the way they're bringing people together to make it happen.
