Richard Osman: We Chase Shadows

Richard Osman is coming to Central Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 25, for a conversation about his latest book, We Chase Shadows: A We Solve Murders Mystery. He's touring in support of the new release, and this is his Austin stop.

If you're not familiar with the series, We Chase Shadows is the second installment in the We Solve Murders books, which followed the phenomenon of The Thursday Murder Club. The story centers on a trio of accidental detectives: retired police detective Steve Wheeler; his daughter-in-law Amy, a private security officer for billionaires; and crime novelist Rosie D'Antonio. This time they're taking on their first proper case, and it's a globe-trotting one—they go from Tuscany to Barcelona to Palm Springs after a body turns up in an Italian villa with a mysterious note attached. It's a long way from the retirement village where the Thursday Murder Club got its start.

Osman is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and a television presenter, and he lives in London with his wife Ingrid and their cats, Liesl and Lottie. If you're a fan of The Thursday Murder Club, there's a movie adaptation that came out in 2025, produced by Amblin Entertainment.

He won't be on his own for the evening. He's joined by Austin novelist Mary Pauline Lowry, author of Last Night Was Killer, The Roxy Letters, and Wildfire, who also writes the Substack Make It Funny. The two will be in conversation about the new book, so it's as much a talk as it is a book event.
