Quentin Pace: On and On and On

Quentin Pace opens On and On and On at the Dougherty Arts Center on Saturday, August 22, in the Julia C. Butridge Gallery. The exhibition runs through October 3, so you've got a good window to catch it.

It's a series of abstract meditations that Pace describes as coming from the quiet labor of feeling, remembering, and connecting. He works with color, form, and layered symbolism to trace emotional currents and shared human rhythms. Pop culture, braided histories, and the vast landscape of the African diaspora—most intimately Southern Black culture—shape the work. From there, Pace moves into the esoteric depths of the inner world and the complex relationship between the heart and retrospection, gesturing toward the unseen threads that bind us.

If you want to hear more from the artist himself, there are two dates to keep in mind. The opening reception is Wednesday, August 26, from 7 PM to 9 PM. Later in the run, Pace gives an artist talk on Wednesday, September 30, also from 7 PM to 9 PM. Between those, the show stays up for anyone who just wants to walk through on their own.
