A queer two-step night with social dancing and lessons at Sagebrush, featuring a $10 cover and 21+ entry.
Neon Rainbows are hosting a queer two-step night at Sagebrush on Monday, August 31, from 7 PM to 11 PM. It's a social dance night, so the floor stays open for dancing throughout the evening, and the whole thing is 21+.
If you've never tried two-stepping, there's no need to show up with a partner or a few lessons already under your belt. The night includes lessons, so you can learn the basics right there on the floor before you jump into the social dancing. It's a queer-focused space, and the focus is on the dancing rather than the spectacle, which makes it a good spot to pick up the steps without any pressure.
Ed West is on the bill, and he's an Austin local, so he knows the scene here. He'll be part of the music that keeps the night moving from the early lessons through the social dancing that follows. The whole thing runs for four hours, so there's plenty of time to get your footing and then spend the rest of the night dancing.
Every week we pick ๐ the 5 best ๐ things to do in Austin and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Sagebrush is at 5500 S Congress Ave, and the cover is $10 at the door. The night runs from 7 PM to 11 PM, with the lessons happening early on so you're ready for the social dancing that follows.
