Leagues Cup soccer match between Austin FC and Club America at Q2 Stadium.
Austin FC takes on Club América at Q2 Stadium on Thursday, August 13, as part of the 2026 Leagues Cup. It's the club's first-ever match against the Mexican side, and it comes during a stretch where Austin hosts three LIGA MX opponents in Phase One: Tijuana, Puebla, and Club América.
The Leagues Cup is sanctioned by Concacaf and pits 36 clubs against each other in a fully interleague format—all 18 LIGA MX teams and 18 qualifying MLS sides. Austin FC earned its spot by reaching the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2025. The tournament follows the format introduced in 2025: every team plays three Phase One matches against opponents from the other league, and the top four from each side advance to the knockout rounds. From there, interleague matchups are guaranteed through the Quarterfinals.
There's more on the line than just a win. Three qualification spots for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup are awarded to the champion, the runner-up, and the third-place finisher, with the champion placed directly into the Round of 16. Austin FC has a history with the tournament: their 2024 campaign included wins over Pumas UNAM and CF Monterrey.
