Texas' ultimate cat convention with adoptable cats, crafts, cosplay, vendors and a marketplace, allowing guests to bring their own cats.
POP Cats is bringing its first-ever cat convention to Texas this August, taking over the Palmer Events Center at 900 Barton Springs Rd. It runs Saturday, August 8, from 11 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, August 9, from 11 AM to 4 PM. It's one of the few cat events in the state that lets you bring your own cat along, so if you've got a social one, they can come too.
Inside, the venue is transformed into a cat-themed environment with whimsical street art, interactive exhibits, and a "Cat City" vibe. They're partnering with local rescues to bring adoptable cats into catios, so if you're looking for a new companion, there will be plenty of them to meet. You can show up in cat cosplay, browse a marketplace of cat-themed goods, and spend time at the hands-on activity stations. There's cat-themed painting, painting a Noah Pooh vinyl toy, making felt catnip toys, button making, and temporary tattoos. A portion of ticket proceeds goes to the participating cat rescues, and re-entry is allowed by wristband.
