Benefit concert for Peelander Z with live music, art auction, and donations at the door. All ages.
Peelander Z is the focus of a benefit concert at Valhalla on Sunday, September 13, with a full afternoon of live music and an art auction. The show comes after Peelander Z was rammed from behind by an 18-wheeler while on tour last May and needs help to recover; the afternoon pairs the music with an auction of art and music, and donations are taken at the door.
It's a long bill that starts early and runs through the afternoon. Up Around the Sun opens at 2 PM, followed by DJ Jester the Filipino Fist at 3 PM, Kid Silverware at 4 PM, My Pilotis at 5 PM, and We Are The Asteroid at 6 PM, with Peelander Z added to the mix. The whole thing is all ages, so you can bring the kids along.
Valhalla is a rock and roll lounge at 710 Red River St, in the old Room 710 location. It's air-conditioned, with a jukebox and pool tables, and it's known for having the nicest bathrooms on Red River. Since it's a Sunday, downtown parking is free.
