Open mic night for singers, songwriters and instrumentalists at Speakeasy in the Warehouse District.
Speakeasy hosts its open mic every Monday night, and tonight, August 10, is no exception. It's a music-only affair—no comedy on the bill—so the stage is reserved for singers, songwriters and instrumentalists. Each performer gets about two songs or ten minutes, which keeps the night moving and gives a good range of acts a chance to play.
If you're coming to perform, there are a few things to know. Backing tracks work via iPhone lightning or USB3 cable, and there's a house guitar available if you don't want to lug yours in. The night is hosted by @moderndaymidas, who also plays acoustic sets at the venue.
Speakeasy sits in Austin's Warehouse District at 412 Congress Ave, 78701. It's a room that keeps music going across the week: 80s jams on Wednesdays, 90s night on Fridays and sing-along Saturdays. It's also thrown a New Year's Eve party every year since 1997, and stepped it up in 2024 with reserved seating, VIP options, acclaimed DJs and live music.
