Speakeasy hosts its open mic night every Monday in the Warehouse District, a music-only room with no comedy on the bill. It's one of those Monday night staples in Austin, alongside the acoustic night at Cactus Cafe and the jazz jam at The Elephant Room, and it's built for singer-songwriters to get their work in front of a room.
Each performer gets about two songs or ten minutes, so it's a short window that keeps the night moving. If you're bringing a backing track, you'll need an iPhone lightning or USB-C cable to plug in; otherwise, there's a house guitar available on stage. The night is hosted by @moderndaymidas, who also plays acoustic sets at the venue.
Speakeasy itself is a three-level spot at 412 Congress Ave, with a Music Lounge, a mezzanine overlooking the stage, and the rooftop Terrace59.
