Open House featuring local artist Darwin Harrison

Orion Custom Framing is hosting an open house featuring local architect and photographer Darwin Harrison on Friday, October 16, from 5 to 8 PM. It's set up as a block party, so it's more of a social gathering than a formal gallery opening. You'll find it at 908 N. Lamar Blvd. in Old West Austin.

Harrison is the main feature of the night, and the open house is a joint effort. Orion Custom Framing is putting it on in coordination with Barton Springs Nursery Design Studio, Christina Cole Interiors, and RATH Studios, so it's a few local names coming together for the evening. The block party side of things means there's free food, drinks, and prizes on the night, which gives you a reason to hang out and talk rather than just drifting through the room.

If you're not familiar with Harrison, he works as both an architect and a photographer, and this is a chance to see his work in person. The timing—a Friday evening from 5 to 8 PM—makes it an easy stop on your way home from work or a way to kick off the weekend. It's in Old West Austin, so you're right in the neighborhood if you're already around that part of town.

To recap: Darwin Harrison's work is on display at Orion Custom Framing, 908 N. Lamar Blvd., on Friday, October 16, from 5 to 8 PM, with free food, drinks, and prizes throughout.
