Nether Hour and Horse Bitch play The Continental Club on Friday, August 14. It's a double bill with Nether Hour taking the first slot at 10 PM and Horse Bitch following at 11:45 PM.
Nether Hour is an Austin trio—Bobby, Bishop, and Bercy—that blends Louisiana and Texas-style funk, blues, soul, and rock 'n' roll. They formed during SXSW 2018 and put out their album Rattlesnake Gumbo in 2023. If you've seen them around town, you know the sound: a mix of Gulf Coast funk and Texas blues that fits right in at the Continental.
Horse Bitch comes from Denver, Colorado, and they're a septet that's hard to pin to one genre. The group started in 2020, founded by guitarist David Knodle and tambourine player Ashley McKinney, and has grown into a maximalist approach guided by total creative freedom. They're continuing that direction on their release UVA while touring the US, so this is a chance to hear them live on this side of the country.
