Movie night on the water with the film Jaws as part of the Movies on the Lake series, with options to watch from the deck or rent a paddleboard.
Mozart's Coffee Roasters is screening Jaws on Monday, August 17, as part of its Movies on the Lake series. The film starts at 8:30 PM, and the setup is exactly what it sounds like: the lakefront of the cafe becomes an outdoor cinema on Lake Austin, where you can watch the movie either from the deck or from the water.
If you're not in the mood to get wet, deck seating is free, though an RSVP is recommended because those free tickets tend to sell out. If you'd rather watch from the water, you can rent a paddleboard, a tube, or a donut boat, though rentals are limited and often sell out too. It's a good idea to book your spot early if you're planning on floating through the movie.
Mozart's itself is an in-house roaster and cafe that's been operating on the shores of Lake Austin since 1993. Over the years it's grown beyond coffee to include live music, community events, and paddleboard rentals, so the whole setup fits right in with what they already do. The movie is part of the Movies on the Lake series, which turns the lakefront into a cinema for the summer.
