Outdoor cinema series screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Lake Austin with live music and sunset views.
Mozart's Coffee Roasters is screening Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Thursday, July 30, as part of its Movies on the Lake series. It's an outdoor cinema night on the Lake Austin waterfront, where the water becomes an open-air screen under the stars every Thursday.
It's more than just the movie. Each screening comes with live music, sunset views over the water, themed concessions, and specialty drinks inspired by the film. If you're a fan of the series, the concessions and drinks are usually the part that really leans into the theme, so it's worth arriving early to see what they've put together for this one.
There are two ways to watch. Deck seating is free, though it usually requires an RSVP since the free tickets often sell out. If you'd rather be on the water, you can rent a paddleboard, a tube, or a donut boat and watch from there, but rentals are limited and frequently fully booked, so that's the one you'll want to sort out well in advance. Between the two, the deck is the easier, no-cost bet.

The screening runs from 9 PM to 11 PM at Mozart's Coffee Roasters, 3825 Lake Austin Boulevard, Austin, TX 78703. Admission is free.
