The venue is Lamberts, at 401 W. Second in downtown Austin. It's a spot with a bit of history: it opened in 2006 when Larry McGuire, Tom Moorman Jr., and Will Bridges took over the revamped J.P. Schneider Store, which dates back to 1873. These days it's a two-story operation—a barbecue joint downstairs and a swanky bar upstairs, with a stage for nightly live music, local beers, and slow-smoked barbecue. You can grab a plate and a drink before the music starts, and the stage is right there in the room.
