Live country music night featuring Missy Beth & The Morning Afters, Blake Whitmire, and The Mellows at The White Horse.
Missy Beth & The Morning Afters are headlining The White Horse on Tuesday, July 14, with Blake Whitmire and The Mellows filling out the bill. It's a long night of music that runs from 7:30 PM well past midnight, so you can come for one act or hang out through all three.
Missy Beth & The Morning Afters take the stage first, playing from 8:00 PM to 9:45 PM. When they wrap, the Blake Whitmire Band steps up from 10:00 PM to 11:45 PM. The Mellows close it out, playing from 11:55 PM until 1:55 AM. With the music stretching across nearly six hours, it's the kind of night where you can pick your favorite set and still have plenty of room to move.
The White Horse is on Austin's Lower East, at 500 Comal Street. It opened in December 2011 as the honky-tonk of owners Nathan Hill and Denis O'Donnell, who spent their days managing the Hole in the Wall and helped launch modern outlaw country acts like Mike & the Moonpies and Leo Rondeau. Sundays there belong to the local institution Conjunto Los Pinkys, and the venue's low-set stage and packed, multi-generational dancing crowd are said to tap into Austin's age-old ethos. The door is 21+.
