A luncheon with keynote by Gay Gaddis, emcee Quan Cosby, and operatic performance by Jasmine Williams, supporting the Millett Legacy Scholarship.
The Millett Opera House hosts the Millett Legacy Luncheon on Thursday, November 5, from 11 AM to 1 PM. It's an annual gathering that does two things at once: the proceeds go toward preserving the historic opera house, which has stood at the heart of Austin since 1878, and they fund the Millett Foundation Scholarship. That scholarship is awarded to students in the University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts, with special consideration for first-generation college students and those with demonstrated financial need.
The afternoon is built around a few different performances. Soprano Jasmine Williams provides an operatic set, and students from the UT College of Fine Arts perform as well. Between the music, there's a keynote by Gay Gaddis, with Quan Cosby emceeing the room. The meal itself comes with a signature dessert made by students from the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, so the student presence runs through the whole thingβon stage and in the kitchen.
Beyond the program, there's a silent auction and a 'Golden Ticket' raffle. If you're looking at sponsorship, the levels range from a $25,000 presenting sponsorship down to a $3,500 table sponsorship. The Austin Club serves as the landmark's steward, and the Millett Opera House Foundation pairs the building's preservation with the scholarship.
