Max & Heather Stalling, a Texas/Red Dirt singer-songwriter duo, perform live at The 04 Center with special guest Courtney Patton.
Max & Heather Stalling play The 04 Center on Saturday, August 1, with Courtney Patton joining the bill. The Stallings are a singer-songwriter duo from Dallas, and their sound sits right in the Texas/Red Dirt and Americana scenes, built around lyrics, vocals, and fiddle. They've been married since 2007, and they've spent the years since then playing and recording together.
Max brings a particular kind of history to the duo. Before music became his primary focus, he was a research scientist at Frito Lay and holds a master's in Food Science from Texas A&M. He's released six studio albums and earned a star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame. Heather is an award-winning fiddle player who joined The Texas Gold Minors in Branson, Missouri, when she was 18, and later co-founded the band blactopGYPSY. Together they blend those two backgrounds—the songwriting and the fiddle—into the Texas/Red Dirt sound they're known for.
Courtney Patton rounds out the night. She's a songwriter whose lyrics and delivery have drawn praise from Rolling Stone and Saving Country Music, so it's a bill that leans heavily on the writing side of things. Between the two acts, you'll get a full evening of Texas songwriting, with the Stallings' fiddle-led Americana and Patton's lyric-driven approach sharing the stage.
