Country music night with live performances from Marti Brom, Sentimental Family Band and Zoe Lloyd at The White Horse.
Marti Brom, Sentimental Family Band, and Zoe Lloyd are taking over The White Horse on Thursday, August 20, for an Austin two-step dance night. It's a full evening of live music that runs from 7 PM to 1 AM, with three different acts splitting the bill across the night.
Marti Brom kicks things off from 7:30 to 8 PM, followed by the Sentimental Family Band, who hold the floor from 8 to 9:45 PM. Zoe Lloyd takes over the late shift from 10 PM to 11:45 PM. Between the three of them, the music carries through nearly the whole night, so you can come early for the first set or roll in later for the headliners.
The venue is The White Horse, a Lower East honky-tonk that opened on Comal in December 2011. It was started by Nathan Hill and Denis O'Donnell, who drew on their time managing the Hole in the Wall to build it. Since then, it's helped push the Eastside music expansion, breaking modern outlaw country acts like Mike & the Moonpies and Leo Rondeau, while Sundays have long belonged to Eastside institution Conjunto Los Pinkys. It took home the 2012 Readers Poll for Best New Bar and Best New Club, and the 2014 Critics Picks for Best Boot-Scuffed Dance Floor.
