A Thursday residency club night featuring live funk, R&B and hip-hop from D-Madness, with Rapid Ric on complementary selections and Austin-centric singers.
D-Madness is back at Flamingo Cantina on Thursday, August 13, for another night of his Mad Vibez residency. He's joined by Rapid Ric on complementary selections, with Azurah Vibez hosting the evening. It runs from 9 PM to 2 AM, so there's plenty of room to settle in.
If you're not familiar with D-Madness, he's a multi-instrumentalist who writes, produces, and sings funk, R&B, soul, and hip-hop infused tunes. He fronts his own one-man project built around live-looping and high-energy sets, and he also plays bass in the house band for the live comedy podcast Kill Tony, often called "The Best Damn Band in the Land." The night blends live instrumentation, production, and dancefloor-ready tracks, with Austin-centric singers stopping by throughout the set.
It's a residency, so this is one of several nights he's holding down at Flamingo Cantina. The whole thing is supported in part by the City of Austin's Live Music Fund, a program of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment. Between D-Madness on the loop and Rapid Ric on the decks, the music carries from the live side over to the DJ side, and the guest singers keep it shifting.
