A live music residency night featuring D-Madness and Rapid Ric, hosted by Azurah Vibez, blending live instrumentation and dancefloor tracks.
D-Madness is back at Flamingo Cantina on Thursday, July 30, as part of his Thursday residency, Mad Vibez. He's joined by Rapid Ric, with Azurah Vibez hosting the night. It's a 21+ event, so bring your ID.
If you haven't caught him yet, D-Madness is a multi-instrumentalist who writes, produces, and sings funk, R&B, soul, and hip-hop infused tunes. He often performs them all at once through live-looping, building the tracks right there on stage. The residency blends that live instrumentation with production and dancefloor-ready tracks, so it's as much about the music as it is about the room moving.
He's a cornerstone of Austin's music scene, though he's often described as an unsung gem. Outside of this residency, he plays bass in the house band for the live comedy podcast Kill Tony, where they're billed as "The Best Damn Band in the Land." The night is supported in part by the City of Austin's Live Music Fund Program of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
