Lonelyland is back at The Saxon Pub every Monday at 8:30 PM, a long-running Austin tradition that turns the start of the week into an intimate night of live music. At the front of it is Bob Schneider, the Austin singer-songwriter who describes his style as 'FRUNK' — a blend of folk, rock, rap, funk, bluegrass, reggae and country. The night mixes acoustic storytelling with experimental rock-pop vibes, so you'll hear him move between those different sounds throughout the set.
Schneider's lyrics deal in alienation, addiction and lost romance, and he's one of the most decorated artists in Austin music history, with more than 59 Austin Music Awards. After a major-label debut on Universal Records, he started his own label, Shockorama Records, and has since released more than a dozen albums and written over 1,000 songs. He's also a published author and an avid painter and collage artist, so there's a fair bit more to the man than just the songs.
