Lone Star Le Mans returns to Circuit of the Americas from September 4 to 6, 2026, as the only North American round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The main event is a six-hour race on Sunday, with the weekend building up to it starting Friday. It's a battle of brands, with manufacturers going head-to-head over the distance.
If you've followed the race's history, you know it's had a few lives. It first ran on September 22, 2013, as the fifth round of the 2013 WEC season, back when it was called the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas. The name 'Lone Star Le Mans' had actually been used for the Austin round of the United SportsCar Championship—now the IMSA SportsCar Championship—from 2014 to 2016. The race left the calendar after a promoter conflict at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo, returned to Austin in 2020, and then re-entered the WEC schedule in 2024 as the American round.
On the track, Porsche has been the most successful manufacturer with four wins. Drivers Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley have each won three times. The weekend runs from Friday practice through Saturday qualifying to the Sunday race, so there's plenty to see before the main event even starts.

Off the track, it's set up for more than just the racing. There's a family-friendly fan zone and food trucks on site, so it's the kind of weekend you can bring the kids to. The whole thing runs from Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6, with the six-hour race on Sunday.
