A family-friendly outdoor concert series where Matthew Brodnax and The Blue Sherpas perform live music in the park.
Matthew Brodnax and The Blue Sherpas play Katherine Fleischer Park on Friday, October 16, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It's part of the Music in the Park series put on by Wells Branch MUD Parks and Recreation, and the setup is pretty low-key: the performers play from the Community Center Courtyard while you sit back on the lawn. It's the kind of evening meant for lounging with people of all ages as the weather cools down.
If you aren't familiar with the spot, Katherine Fleischer Park is one of the bigger parks in the Wells Branch neighborhood. It's got a community center and a gazebo, a heavily shaded playground, a giant playhouse, a pool, a soccer field, a sand volleyball court, tennis and basketball courts, and a multi-use baseball field. The whole thing is tied into the neighborhood trails and a disc golf course, so there's plenty to do around the music. The historical Gault Homestead is also on the grounds, with tours available upon request.
