Exhibition by Paige Booth exploring the idea of home through collage and mixed media at Link & Pin.
Paige Booth brings Domestic Tranquility to Link & Pin Gallery this fall, a collage and mixed media exhibition that runs from September 18 through October 25. The opening reception is Saturday, September 19, from 5 to 7 PM, and there's an artist talk on Sunday, October 4, at 2 PM.
Booth starts with the simplest house shape there is—the square topped with a triangle, the kind of thing most of us drew as kids—and builds from there. She layers it with fragments of newspapers, maps, old textbooks, and vintage found papers, turning that universal symbol into a personal architecture of memory, subjectivity, and experience. The result is home presented as both a physical place and an emotional landscape: a source of belonging, memory, identity, and aspiration.
Much of the work draws on the transitions and reflections of midlife, and Booth uses that as a way to look at how our understanding of home evolves over time. It's a familiar starting point—that childhood drawing of a house—that she pushes into something more specific and layered. The show is reviewed by Maryam Muliaee.
