Katie Shore, female vocalist and fiddle player from Asleep at the Wheel, performs live at The Continental Club.
Katie Shore plays The Continental Club on Wednesday, August 26, starting at 6:30 PM. She's a vocalist and fiddle player from Fort Worth who moved to Austin after earning an Associates Degree in Commercial Music in 2008. These days she's the female vocalist and fiddle player for Asleep at the Wheel, the nine-time Grammy Award winner.
Shore does more than just perform. She's a luthier and a teacher as well, and her resume runs through a good stretch of Texas music. She's played with The Jitterbug Vipers, Continental Graffiti, and Ghosts Along the Brazos, and has shared stages with Willie Nelson and George Strait. Early on, she was part of the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, too.
The Continental Club has been around since 1957. Thirty years later, Steve Wertheimer took it over as a home for touring and local Americana, rockabilly, and swing. It's won the Readers Poll for 'Intimate Live Music Venue' in 2023, 2021, 2019, and 2017.
