Country music duo Jordan Matthew Young and Phil Hollie perform live at The White Horse, a venue known for its honky-tonk atmosphere.
Jordan Matthew Young and Phil Hollie are playing The White Horse on Monday, September 7, with doors opening at 7:30 PM. It's a double bill at the East Austin honky-tonk, and the night runs lateโthe music goes until 1:00 AM, so there's plenty of room to settle in.
If you're not familiar with the room, The White Horse is on Comal Street. It opened in December 2011 as part of Nathan Hill and Denis O'Donnell's Eastside, and it's built around the kind of country music that doesn't need a fancy stage to work. The owners drew on their time managing the Hole in the Wall to help build a home for modern outlaw country, and the venue has spent the last decade and a half hosting acts like Mike & the Moonpies and Leo Rondeau. Sundays belong to the local institution Conjunto Los Pinkys, and the low-set stage and multi-generational dancing crowd that usually fill the floor are a good shorthand for the kind of night you'll find here.
