Jo James Album Release Show with special guest Jennifer Foster and The Audacity

Jo James is playing The 04 Center on Friday, September 18, for his album release show. It's a night built around the new record, with new songs played live for the first time and copies available at the merch table. James is based here in Austin, and his sound pulls from Americana, soul and blues, blending soulful vocals, bluesy guitar and songwriting that looks at faith, redemption and overcoming. He describes his shows as drawing listeners from across the country craving authenticity and southern charm.

Opening the evening are Jennifer Foster & The Audacity, another Austin powerhouse band. Foster is the vocalist, bassist and songwriter leading the group, and their all-original catalogue draws on Motown, funk, R&B and rock greats like Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, The Meters and Chaka Khan. Between the two acts, the night moves from James's Americana-leaning soul to Foster's funk and R&B.

The show runs from 7:30 to 10:00 PM, with doors opening at 6:30 PM. The 04 Center is at 2701 S Lamar Blvd, and it's an all-ages show with a full bar and free on-site parking.
