Post-hardcore and screamo band I Promised The World perform live at The Far Out Lounge & Stage in Austin.
I Promised The World play The Far Out Lounge & Stage on Saturday, July 25, their first Austin date since they formed in Denton back in 2020. They're a post-hardcore band, and the set will be built around their self-titled EP, which they released this year. One of the songs on it is "Bliss in 7 Languages."
There's a bit of a story behind the band. Vocalist Caleb Molina started the project partly from his own grief, and that personal weight carries through the music. The sound they've landed on pulls from emo, metalcore, and pop screamo, and they've been open about drawing on early 2000s influences. It's that specific intersection—the heavy, the melodic, and the loud—that defines the record.
Since the EP came out, they've signed with Rise Records, so this is one of their first shows on the label. The set will be their own, with no other bands on the bill. If you've been following them from the Denton scene, this is a good chance to hear the new material live.
