A citywide celebration of Austin's local music scene with 400+ local musicians and 250+ free performances across multiple venues.
HAAM Day returns to Austin on Tuesday, September 22, and it's exactly the kind of day that reminds you why this city calls itself the Live Music Capital. The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) is turning the whole town into one giant stage for a single day: more than 400 local musicians will play over 250 free performances across Greater Austin.
It's not just a few stages in one spot. The music is spread across more than 120 venues, and you'll find it in places you wouldn't expect. There are sets at The ABGB, Central Machine Works, Stubb's Indoors, and RADIO / EAST, but the festival also spills out into the city itself—the steps of the Texas State Capitol, neighborhood H-E-B locations, and the Town Lake Trail. The performances are free, so you can spend the day drifting from one spot to another without a ticket in your pocket.
There's a practical side to the celebration, too. Participating businesses pledge a portion of their sales throughout the day to HAAM, the organization behind the festival. HAAM's mission is to keep Austin's music scene alive by providing local musicians with access to affordable health, wellness, and prevention services, including a Dental Program and a Premium Assistance Program. It's the kind of support that makes a real difference in a musician's life—Jaime Ospina of Superfónicos and Naomi Stinnett of Lost Girls have both testified that it helps them stay in Austin and keep working.

HAAM Day sits inside Support Local Music Month, the city's month-long tribute to its musicians and creatives. It's also a three-time winner of 'Most Creative Event' at the Austin Music Awards, and it's billed as the largest one-day, all-local music festival in the world. All the performances are on Tuesday, September 22, across the city.
