A double feature screening of the classic musical films Grease and High School Musical as part of the Paramount Summer Classic Film Series.
Paramount and Stateside Theatres are pairing Grease and High School Musical for a double feature on Sunday, July 26. It's part of the Paramount Summer Classic Film Series, so it's one of several screenings they're running through the summer. The two movies share a pretty clear thread—high school, musical numbers, and the kind of romance that takes over everything—and they're playing back-to-back, so you can see them both in one go.
Grease kicks things off at 7 PM. It's the 1978 version, 110 minutes long, directed by Randal Kleiser. John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John lead the cast, with Stockard Channing, Eve Arden, Sid Caesar, and Joan Blondell filling out the rest. The soundtrack is a big part of why it stuck around, and it's sold over 28 million copies since it came out.
High School Musical follows at 9:05 PM. That one's from 2006, 98 minutes long, and directed by Kenny Ortega. It stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, with Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman. It's a shorter movie than Grease, so the whole night runs about three and a half hours if you stay for both.
