GIMME! GIMME! DISCOTEX! takes over Swan Dive on Friday, August 7, for a night built around a live ABBA tribute. The evening is presented by THE GOOD TIMES, who've billed it as a 21+ Friday night disco session that runs from the doors at 9 PM through into the early hours.
The live part of the bill comes from discotex, a band that describes itself as the ultimate live ABBA tribute. They'll be playing the ABBA catalog live, so the night starts with a full band on stage rather than just a DJ. When they're done, imaroughboy (DJ Roughboy) takes over the booth, keeping the floor moving with disco and funk records. The two acts together cover the night's range: a live tribute to one of the most recognizable pop groups in the world, followed by a DJ set that leans into the broader disco and funk sounds that the whole thing is built on.
