Third edition of the annual Austin bar crawl where patrons collect punches at twelve bars to earn a commemorative t-shirt, with a focus on frozen drinks.
Freeze Week is back for its third year, running from Monday, August 10, through Sunday, August 16. It's an Austin bar crawl built on a simple equation: when the Texas weather is more than hot, the drinks are frozen. The whole thing is a week-long tasting of frozen drinks across a circuit of bars around the city.
Here's how it works: you get a punch card to track your progress as you move from one spot to the next. Collect eight punches, and you earn a limited-edition commemorative t-shirt. Kinda Tropical serves as the primary hub—that's where you redeem your completed card and where you cast your vote for your favorite frozen drink of the week. The crawl is sponsored by Campari America and Espolòn Tequila, and it's restricted to over-21s.
The circuit includes thirteen bars: Kinda Tropical, Hotel Vegas, High Noon, Low Down Lounge, Holiday, 29th Street Ballroom, Kitty Cohen's, Yellow Jacket Social Club, Chess Club, Volstead Lounge, The Cavalier, The Long Goodbye, and Tweedy's. You can hit them in whatever order you like over the course of the week, so you don't have to do it all in one go.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Austin and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
