A roots music concert featuring the long-time Austin musicians Eve Monsees and Mike Buck, often accompanied by guitarist Tjarko Jeen.
Eve Monsees and Mike Buck play The Continental Club on Monday, August 17, starting at 6:30 PM. They're often joined by guitarist Tjarko Jeen, so the set usually has three people on stage rather than just the two names on the bill.
Both Monsees and Buck have been part of the Austin roots scene for a long time. Monsees draws on her early blues roots and has played in bands including The Exiles and the Bluebonnets. Buck brings a Texas roots experience that spans several prominent groups. Together they've become fixtures of the city's roots music community, and this is one of those shows where you're seeing two people who've spent years playing in the local circuit.
