Blues-rock duo Eve Monsees and Mike Buck perform live at The Continental Club.
Eve Monsees & Mike Buck play The Continental Club on Monday, August 10, at 6:30 PM. It's a blues-rock duo made up of two Austin musicians who have been playing together for over two decades.
Eve Monsees started on guitar at 12 and began performing around town as a teenager alongside schoolmate Gary Clark Jr. She formed Eve and the Exiles with Mike Buck, and they put out their debut record in 2004. In 2007, she joined the Bluebonnets, appearing on their 2010 release Boom Boom Boom Boom.
Mike Buck has been a fixture of the Texas roots scene since the mid-1970s. He was a founding member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, playing on Girls Go Wild and What's the Word, and later spent time with the LeRoi Brothers and Big Guitars From Texas. The two have played together in Eve and the Exiles since 2002, and they're co-owners of Antone's Record Shop here in Austin.
