Mau Mau Chaplains are back at Flamingo Cantina on Wednesday, August 12, as part of the Dreadneck Wednesdays series. It's a reggae and ska night that's been running every Wednesday at the venue, and the Chaplains have spent the last decade making it their own.
The band is known for pairing four-part harmonies with a driving reggae beat, and they're joined by the Tijuana Train Wreck, who bring a full horn section described as a professional reggae orchestra. Between the two, there's several hundred years of collective reggae experience on stage. If you're coming hungry, Winston's Kitchen is there serving authentic Jamaican food.
If you can't make it in person, the night streams live on Flamingo Cantina's Facebook and YouTube starting around 10:30 PM. It also airs from 11:00 to 11:30 PM on Austin Music TV / Austin Public Access, and you can catch it on-demand via Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
