Cruel Summer Karaoke hosted by Bee

Cruel Summer Karaoke is back at Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge on Wednesday, August 12, with Bee hosting the night. It's a karaoke session, so the music comes from whoever steps up to the mic rather than a setlist. Bee runs the show, keeping things moving and taking the helm for the evening.

Hotel Vegas and The Volstead Lounge are sister bars on East Sixth Street, and they're meant to reflect the kind of variety you'll find in one of Austin's best nightlife neighborhoods. The Volstead takes its cues from old-world New Orleans and serves classic and seasonal house cocktails, old-world wines, and a craft draft beer selection that rotates constantly. You can find a spot in the cozy lounge or out on the large outdoor patio, so there's a choice between staying inside or taking it outdoors.

It's a mid-week night, and the music goes late. The session runs from 9 PM to 1 AM, so there's plenty of room to get through a few songs without rushing. The whole night is for over-21s, and there's no cover, so you can just walk in and join in. If you're not in the mood to sing, you can still hang out and listen. It's at 1502 E 6th St, right in the middle of the East Sixth scene.
