Nine nights of light-based art installations by local artists along the southern stretch of Waterloo Greenway, celebrating the restored urban green space.
Creek Show returns to Waterloo Greenway from November 13 to 21, 2026, after a one-year hiatus. It's the greenway's signature community event—an Austin tradition of light-based public art that's been evolving since it debuted in 2014. Over the years it's moved from downtown Waller Creek to Waterloo Park as the greenway itself grew, and this edition brings it back to the newly opened southern stretch of the park, which added 13 acres of restored urban green space.
This year there are ten light-based installations by local artists and firms: BRR Architecture, Lord Aeck Sargent, HKS Architects, Yuliya Lanina, WarrPaint, UNS, SOM/Playhou.se, Charlie A, and Kick Punch Bite. Each selected team was given a $20,000 installation budget to work with. The pieces draw on Waller Creek's ecology and history—everything from the displaced communities that once lived along its banks to the native flora and the city's waterways.
Waterloo Greenway presents the show with founding partner AIA Austin, whose Executive Director Ingrid Spencer also serves as the show's Artistic Director. All proceeds benefit the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy.
