Country Jim's Acoustical Jamboree

Jimmie Dreams & Friends are the main feature of Country Jim's Acoustical Jamboree this Monday, August 3, at Green Mesquite BBQ. It's part of the venue's Monday night fixture, an all-ages room dedicated to acoustic music.

Green Mesquite BBQ has been serving the Austin community since 1988, and the music is a big part of what they do. Most of the week, they pair slow-smoked BBQ with live music that runs Thursday through Sunday, which they describe as "BBQ, blues and bluegrass." The Jamboree is the Monday night counterpart to that—a night for acoustic sets rather than the full-band sound that carries through the weekend. Jimmie Dreams & Friends take the lead for this one.

If you're heading over, the music runs from 7 PM to 9:30 PM at 1400 Barton Springs Rd. It's free, so you can just show up and listen. Since it's an all-ages room, it's a good spot to bring along whoever you want.
