Carla Lalli is coming to First Light Books on Thursday, September 24, to celebrate the launch of her new cookbook, Food Is a Feeling. It's her most personal one yet, written in the wake of loss while she worked out what it means to cook for one, cook for comfort, and cook your way back to yourself. Reviewer Kat McNevins described it as a book that can help you "feed yourself through a hard year and come out the other side still hungry for good things."
The evening is built around meeting the chef. It's a mix-and-mingle conversation rather than a formal presentation, and there are two specific treats tied to the book: a custom snack box made from recipes in the pages and a Sour Patch Lemonade Spritz created just for the occasion. If you're a fan of her work, it's a chance to hear the stories behind the recipes and talk with her in person.
