A musical theatre dance party celebrating the best of Broadway, presented by Resound Presents at the 29th Street Ballroom.
Broadway Rave comes to the 29th Street Ballroom on Saturday, October 3, at 10 PM. It's presented by Resound Presents, and it's an all-ages event, so you can bring whoever you want.
They bill it as "A Musical Theatre Dance Party Celebrating the Best of Broadway," and that's a pretty good summary of what to expect. The night is built around musical theatre, musicals, and popular standards, so if you've spent any time singing along to cast recordings or humming show tunes, you'll recognize where this is coming from. It's not a seated concert or a staged production; it's a dance party, which means the music is meant to keep you moving rather than just listening.
There's a New York connection here, too. The whole thing is rooted in New York, New York, the city where Broadway actually lives, and it brings that same spirit to Austin. Resound Presents is the one bringing it to the 29th Street Ballroom, and because it's all-ages, it's as much for the theatre kids as it is for the adults who never really grew out of it.
