Brincos Dieras

Brincos Dieras plays ACL Live at The Moody Theater on Sunday, Oct 25, at 8 PM. If you're not familiar with the name, he's a Mexican clown, comedian, and humorist who's become a leading figure in Latin comedy. Born Roberto Carlos Oliva Barajas in Mexico City, he earned an acting degree in 2008 from the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBA) and lists Guillermo del Toro, Roberto Benigni, and Charlie Chaplin as influences.

On stage, he performs as a flamboyant clown in striking costume and makeup, and the act blends physical comedy, improvisation, and live music. Much of his work comes from his comedy specials Payasos al Ataque and Humor Sin Fronteras, the live album Risas y Travesuras, and characters like Pepe Payasín, Tito Trompeta, and Doña Carcajada. He performs in Spanish with English context for North American audiences, so you can follow along even if you aren't fluent.

His humor satirizes Mexican traditions, telenovelas, and pop culture, and he's now considered a mentor to a new generation of Latin comedians. He won the Premio Nacional de Comedia in 2012 and has headlined arenas in Guadalajara and Monterrey. This Austin date follows a 30th-anniversary tour across Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

It's a Sunday night show at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, starting at 8 PM.
