Bollywood | Desilectric | Independence Day Edition

DJ Raag brings his Desilectric set to Antone's Nightclub in downtown Austin on Saturday, August 15. The night is presented by Livvie Star Company and billed as the Independence Day Edition of Bollywood Desilectric.

It's not your usual Bollywood night. Raag blends Bollywood and Tollywood tracks with electronic beats, aiming for an EDM festival vibe rather than a standard dance floor. If you're used to the more traditional side of these sounds, this is the electronic flip of them—the kind of set that leans into the club side of things.

The Independence Day theme comes with a dress code: guests are encouraged to turn up in the tricolor—orange, white, and green. It's a simple way to lean into the celebration, and given the crowd that usually shows up for these nights, it'll be easy to spot who's on board. If you're not into the whole dress-up thing, you can still come as you are, but the tricolor is the night's running theme.

Doors open at 10 PM at Antone's, and the night is for over-21s only, so bring your ID. Between the Bollywood-Tollywood mix and the EDM energy, it's a late-night start that runs well into the early hours. If you're planning to go, keep in mind it's a Saturday night downtown, so give yourself a little extra time to get there.
