A spooky night at the museum featuring live music from the Golden Dawn Arkestra, hands-on art-making, museum games, a pop-up print exhibition, a scavenger hunt, and a costume contest.
Golden Dawn Arkestra takes the stage at the Blanton Museum of Art on Friday, October 30, from 7 PM to 11 PM. The psychedelic collective is presented by Resound as part of the Blanton's B Scene, a series of spooky nights that pair live music with hands-on art-making and museum-gallery games. Costumes are encouraged, so it's the kind of night where you can show up in full get-up and fit right in.
Beyond the music, there's a one-night-only 'Monster Mash' pop-up print exhibition that draws from the museum's prints and drawings collection. You can also work your way through a Crazy Creatures scavenger hunt, enter a costume contest, and spend time at the monster-making stations, where they'll have origami, the surrealist 'exquisite corpse' game, and clay and bead mini monsters to put together. It's a full evening of things to do, not just a show to watch.
