Halloween-themed day of live music, art talks, and creative activities at the Blanton Museum of Art, inspired by the Haas Brothers exhibition.
Blanton All Day returns to the Blanton Museum of Art on Sunday, October 18, from 10 AM to 5 PM. It's the museum's biggest all-day art event, held on the grounds around the Moody Patio, and this edition leans hard into the Halloween season. Costumes are encouraged, and there are temporary tattoos to go around.
The day centers on Haas Brothers: Uncanny Valley, an exhibition that brings together 15 years of the artists' fantastical imagination. Around that, the schedule fills up with a mix of live music and guided art. Austin's Strawbitty Yops provide the music, while Blanton educators lead 'Looking Together' sessions. There's a Curator's Choice and 'Art with an Expert' talks featuring artists, curators, and art historians, and hands-on activities where you can make clay monsters and puppets.
Beyond the talks and the making, the museum pulls from its collection of more than 18,000 works on paper for pop-up print exhibitions. Food and drink are available to buy, or you can bring your own picnic. The Austin Chronicle is the media sponsor for the day.

If you're into the Haas Brothers, this is just the start: the same exhibition later inspires a Halloween-eve party, B Scene: Monster Ball, on October 30, with music by Golden Dawn Arkestra. For the October 18 event, admission is free for all Blanton members, $20 for ages 18 and up, $15 for K-12 teachers with ID, $10 for ages 6-17, and free for ages 5 and under.
